30 years of HÄRTING Rechtsanwälte – for us, this is much more than just an anniversary. It is an occasion to pause for a moment, look back and, above all, look forward. Together with friends, long-standing companions and clients, we celebrated the start of our anniversary year on 22 January 2026 – and felt what these three decades have made possible: Trust, attitude, curiosity and thinking about the future together.
With a lot of energy, humour and depth, Gayle Tufts led us through an inspiring afternoon that we will remember for a long time – not least because of the musical moment she wrote especially for Prof. Niko Härting: goosebumps included.
In terms of content, it became clear what HÄRTING has stood for for 30 years and what we want to continue to stand for in the future. Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger – who unfortunately only joined us via video – made an urgent plea for a controversial legal profession and cited Niko Härting as an example of why we will need this courage to take a clear position more than ever in the coming decades.
Marcel Weber interactively demonstrated the challenges facing the club and cultural landscape and at the same time made it clear why cultural spaces deserve support – and why we should all go out more often.
In conversation with Niko Härting, Barbara Thiel warned that data protection can lose its impact without consistent enforcement – a topic that has characterised our law firm for many years and will remain central in the future.
Joost Linnemann combined personal retrospection with an optimistic outlook, thereby summarising what we feel: HÄRTING thinks long-term – and is happy to do so in further 30-year increments.
From the exchange with Christian Arbeit from 1. FC Union Berlin, we were able to learn how to deal with imponderables, think in terms of projects and maintain an attitude – without selling out the dignity of football.
What do we take away from this anniversary? The confirmation that specialisation is still in demand where law meets technology. That data protection, IT law, IP and new technological developments will continue to require clear positions, professional depth and the courage to debate. And that a law firm can only remain successful if it retains its curiosity, team spirit and enjoyment of good advice.
Our special thanks go to all those who have travelled this path with us and continue to do so: our clients for their trust, our employees and colleagues for their commitment, solidarity and passion, our friends and companions for the open exchange over all these years.
30 years of HÄRTING are a strong foundation. On this basis, we look forward to shaping the next 30 years together – with attitude, a desire for new things and a view to the future.
Thank you for being part of this history.
