Compliance with data protection is a fundamental requirement in almost all areas of business and public administration. Whilst information processing is indispensable, it is also essential to continue to safeguard the civil liberties of ‘data subjects’, particularly in the light of ever-advancing technological developments. This commentary presents the law that resolves this conflict in a practical manner. The regulations that specifically address the digital lives of the population require particular attention.
The commentaries on the GDPR and the BDSG, which were previously published separately, have been combined in this new edition. It takes into account new statutory provisions, including those relating to employee data protection and telecommunications, as well as current case law, academic literature and statements from supervisory authorities.
Edited by Sebastian Schulz: Articles 6, 7, 8, 9, 21 and 22 of the GDPR and Sections 2 and 46 of the BDSG.
