The EU’s basic data protection regulation and the revised Data Protection Act set new standards in data protection. The fines for violations are high and represent a major risk for companies. In addition, companies must meet demanding data protection standards in Switzerland and the EU in order to remain competitive.You will learn the basics of Swiss private data protection law and become familiar with typical cases. The focus is on issues relating to employee data protection law, e-commerce, IT (keywords cloud, big data, social media) and general corporate practice, such as the commissioning of third parties, data processing within the group, data transfer abroad and the role of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. You will deepen your knowledge with examples, use cases and checklists for practical application. The seminar is rounded off with an outlook on the current revisions of Swiss and European data protection law.
