On 18 and 19 June 2026, Dr. Otto Schmidt will host the Cologne Data Protection Law Days 2026. The conference is entitled “Data Protection in European Digital Law” and will focus on the key developments currently affecting businesses, public authorities and consultants in the field of data protection law.

Key topics include the potential practical implications of a GDPR reform as part of the Digital Omnibus Package, issues surrounding the AI & Data Act, legally compliant data use and AI training, strategies for dealing with mass GDPR claims, and the interplay of various reporting obligations in the event of cyber incidents, for example under the GDPR, NIS2, DORA and other regulatory frameworks.

The conference brings together perspectives from academia, regulatory bodies, the legal profession and corporate practice.

Prof. Niko Härting is part of the conference steering committee. Sebastian Schulz from the HÄRTING team will also be speaking at the event. He will speak on 19 June 2026 on ‘Article 22 of the GDPR in practice – scoring procedures under pressure’.
