The main subject of the report is the still unclear legal status of robots, which are becoming ever more prevalent in our everyday lives. The issue of liability for damage or injuries caused by robots is key in this respect.
The draft report invited the European Commission to produce a proposal for legislation on robots and artificial intelligence. This still has to be approved by the majority of the EU Parliament.
